The CFC Life Assurance last expense protection insurance program

Our Last expense program is a response to the growing concern of many employers regarding the ever increasing costs of funeral/burial expenses of employees and/or spouses. CFC Life Assurance Ltd developed this unique program to address the societal problem.

The Last Expense Protection plan offers employers a tool to meet this financial problem. The benefit available is a flat amount ranging from Kshs 60,000/= - 120,000/=.

Advantages of the Last Expense Protection plan are as follows:-

• Tax shelter benefit from business standpoint since the entire financial outlay is considered a part of the operation cost by the Tax Authority.
• A provision for availability of money within 48 hours upon receipt of Proof of Death of an Employee.
• Continued smooth operation of your company without work disruptions brought about by employees' request for contributions on behalf of the deceased colleague.
• An opportunity to demonstrate your confidence and concern for your employees' welfare at a minimal cost, or
• An opportunity for you to sponsor the program by encouraging your employees to participate through payroll deductions whereby the employees pay for the cost voluntarily. Our experience with many employers indicates employees' willingness to pay for the cost.
• Where employees pay for the insurance, we require 75% participation. However, if the employer decides to pay as an additional benefit to the employees, all employees have to be included in the program.
• This program is available to both employees and their spouses. In situations where employees opt to have their spouses covered, the employer would request the staff to pay the Premium for the spouse coverage. This is normally done through payroll deductions.

As is mentioned above, one of the special advantages of this program is that CFC Life will pay the benefit within 48 hours upon receipt of Proof of Death of an employee and/or spouse (where applicable). This immediate settlement of the Claim allows you to make funds available to the deceased's family without use of your financial resources for the funeral/burial expenses.
