CFC Life to cover chronic diseases under BLUE
Full cover, treatment and medication of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension, or HIV/AIDS
More and more Kenyans lack access to health care, with general medical inflation standing at 35 percent. In addition, only 2 percent of the Kenyan population is covered by private insurance companies for health, while another 10 percent can afford medical cover but do not have it, which means that most of the Kenyan population is exposed.
The health situation is further compounded by the fact that the number of chronic diseases is reported to be on the increase with cases of cancer doubling every year.
It is against this back ground that leading life insurance company, CfC Life partnered with Liberty Health to launch BLUE into the Kenyan market. Liberty Health is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Standard Bank Group of South Africa, together with CFC Life, members are being offered comparable health insurance benefits wherever they are in the world.
CfC Life Managing Director, Mr. Abel Munda said that the two options, Blue Gold and Blue Diamond, will offer customers flexibility and coverage to meet their healthcare needs. BLUE also provides a dedicated client liaison officer and a 24-hour advice and support service across Africa.
BLUE will match or improve upon the core option offered by CfC Life, not to mention that it includes exciting new offerings such as Wellness benefits, and specialised care for chronic disease management and HIV/Aids" said Munda during the launch of this exclusive health insurance product.
All over the world, companies are finding out how employee wellness programs can improve their productivity and effectiveness.

Employers know that looking after their people is the single biggest factor influencing their success and an employee wellness program is essential to creating a productive and supportive working environment.
"We saw a need to provide a cutting edge insurance solution that meets the ever changing customer demand of protection," said Ezekiel Owuor, Head of Marketing for CfC Life.
Currently, BLUE powered by CfC Life is a closed medical scheme and is only available to employees from member organisations. BLUE does not exclude members with pre-existing conditions. All members whether they have a pre-existing condition or not are covered from day one.
